Good Afternoon Roger,
Thank you for bringing Symantec's GDISK to the list's attention: it sure
looks to be an invaluable utility to keep in a PC doctor's kit bag. The
copy I downloaded a few minutes ago includes a comprehensive user's manual.
I can't say exactly that I'm looking forward to using it <grin>, but it's
good to know that I'll be prepared whenever serious PC trouble strikes a
friend or neighbor's computer ... or even (perish the thought) one of the
computer's in my charge.

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] Partitions
Symantec make a utility called GDISK. I find it more powerful than FDISK. If
you download it from here, http://drd.dyndns.org/gdisk.html make a bootable
floppy with the files extracted to it. Boot the PC and type at the A:\
prompt GDISK 1 /DEL /ALL This will delete all partitions regardless of O/S.
Next type GDISK 1 /mbr will reinitialise your masterboot record. the number
1 is signifies the primary disk, if you wanted to use it on a secondary
disk, you would have to change the value.
Do you want to signoff PCBUILD or just change to
Digest mode - visit our web site:
