Bill:
My guess would be the power supply. Its rated capacity seems more than
adequate, but this could be the one where every component was right at the
ragged edge of the tolerance band, so that if anything else is marginal --
such as the voltage maintained by your power company, local demand,
whatever -- one or more of the lines from the power supply aren't  up to the
task.
