First,  thank you all for responding to my question about loosing the
date/time.  I looked in the spec book for the VS440FX Intel motherboard and
the battery is a socketed, coin-cell type.  They say this battery should
last 7 years and it's been in there about 3 years.  My dumb question
concerns the proceedure for replacing this battery.  Are there settings that
will be lost when I replace it?  Do I just shut off and unplug the computer
and put in the new battery?  Thanx.
