Typically, none.  The board simply dosen't support it.  The speed of the
memory will fall back to the fastest supprorted by the BIOS.  Chances are,
since it is working, that the board does in fact suport EDO RAM though.  A
lot of boards will not work with EDO.  The system would not boot.  This is a
common occurrance with older 486 based systems though.  Nearly all Pentium
based system support EDO though.  Hope this helps.

Subject: [PCBUILD] EDO vs. Fast Page modules


I'm upgrading a network in which all workstations have the ASUS P55T2P4
motherboard and are running Windows 95 with 16MB RAM.  The ASUS web site
recommends "72-pin DRAM Module with Fast Page Mode or DRAM."  The
motherboards have been running with EDO modules.  What are the consequences
of using EDO when Fast Page is recommended?
