not in our case!!! my daughter is still nursing, and has pretty severe
allergy problems. i also know several people with breastfed children
with milk allergies (and other allergies).
*however*, the allergies tend to be less severe if you breastfeed, and
you are not exposing the child to cows milk proteins during the first
year if you breastfeed (even soy formulas have cows milk proteins).
obviously, imo it is worth it to try. i have met children who had family
histories of allergies, and the first breastfed child didn't have
allergies. you never know what could help!
