For under $100 (US), I would look at the cards using the nvidia MX400
design. These are based on the Geforce2 chips, but they are scaled a back a
bit from the regular Geforce2 in terms of the chip's clock speed and the
memory speed (you may be able to find a regular Geforce 2 - GTS or Ti
model - for just over $100). The main problem the MX series of cards face
is low memory bandwidth, but they do well at resolutions up to 800x600x16.
(Your milage may vary depending on other components and the games you play.)
Another series of cards to consider under $100 would be those based on the
Kyro chip. I don't have any direct experience with these, so I can't speak
to them beyond what information you can find on hardware review sites.
