You don't state what OS you are using, but I remember reading that Win98 has
trouble keeping time. Maybe it was 9X in general. All I know is that my
computer used to lose a lot of time, CMOS battery new or not. Since I have
moved to Win2k, it is as solid and unchanging as my Timex, which doesn't
lose two seconds a year.

I have an older 366 Celeron. I've been noticing that the clock on the
computer is losing time--up to a half hour a day. I changed the one battery
that I could find on the mb....Is there something else that controls the
time? Is there another battery? The one I changed seemed more like a
watch/calculator battery...only 3v....
