HDTach seems to be a benchmark that many like for comparisons. You can
download a copy from http://www.tcdlabs.com This program can give you
indications of speed, as well as CPU load.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Want to benchmark my harddrive.

Hi all,

Not long ago I installed an Abit BE-6II Motherboard with Highpoint ATA 66
controllers. My primary drive (WD 10 Gig Caviar I think it is) is attached
to these controllers while my second drive is attached to the slower ATA 33
controllers. The BIOS ? screen at boot up specifically for the highpoint
controllers says that the primary drive is running in UMDA mode 4 but
what's a good way to verify that my hard drives are running at the speed
they're suppose to.

Thanks for any info.,

Bill Nussbaumer
