My answer here is a little vague, but I can tell you I have talked with
people who say they have. There are places you can buy the shell (with
screen), motherboard, etc. and build one from scratch. On the other hand,
those same people said they would have saved money to buy a comparable
system already put together. Seems they did it just to prove they could.
