I received about 10 responses to my question concerning the whole food
nutritional supplement (Perfect Food). The company clearly states
they're 100% gluten free in writing and over the phone. However it
contains concentrates of cereal grass juices (kamut, barley, oat, rye,
whole wheat). They make this claim by using an "exclusive Poten-zyme
process which pre-digests any residual gluten through beneficial bacteria".

I have also summarized a doctor's letter (who agressively prescribes
the supplement to chronically ill patients).

Quite a few people were interested in finding out my response because
we could all use the nutrients.

- "They are outrageous *#@!* lies made by ignorant
bastards who are only out to fleece you"

- "everthing I've read says the grasses do not contain gliadin but I think
generally celiacs have been hesitant to use it".

- "It's a great product and is gf as they at the company assure you that it is.
.....I also take their Primal Defense everyday and it has helped me
tremendously".

- "If you believe that company's claims, you are damaging your gut even
if you don't feel the effect. Even wheat starch has enough gluten to
continue to damage even without adding trace elements from rye and
barley and that's even omitting oats........every time since diagnosis
have thought I was gluten-free untill the next time. I have now had 30"
of my small intestine removed in two operations, been diagnosed as low-
grade lymphoma, and am now on my last chance to live gluten-free.
BELIEVE ME, there is a reason that senior celiacs use the motto, When in
doubt, don't even think about eating it".

- "My understanding is that distillation is the only process that
removes the protein from the end product. From what I know about
fermentation it would not remove the protein entirely".

- FROM DR. GARY GORDON - Practitioner in Arizona, I believe. Has a website.

"I can only tell you that so far, we find generally the BENEFIT exceeds the
risks, in other words, I believe it may NOT be possible to eliminate every
molecule of GLUTEN, but there are MANY patients with Gluten sensitivity that
ALSO need their unmet nutrient needs satisfied even MORE than avoiding EVERY
molecule- of course for some patients, the Soil based organisms found in
Perfect FOOD are another BIG benefit-

If you have access to an accomplished person doing ELECTRONIC testing like
the biomeridian (best) test or even a good muscle tester, your body makes
the decision immediatelyand such testing will tell us IF for you

I work also with the MUCOS compnay of GERMANY- see www.mucos.de/uk and as
my researh has documented that ALL forms of irritable bowel disease ALSO
have underlying hypercoagulability preventing full repair of the intestine,
as well as the need for lowering the level of circulating autoantibodies,
for these reasons I suggest you look into taking Wobenzym Med- 5 tabs 2-3
times a day as another step in making you more able to enjoy a long life in
spite of your condition.

Good Luck

DR G
