Allergy Alert - Some Ruffles WOW Originals Contain Undeclared Dairy and
Colors
PLANO, TX (SafetyAlerts) - Frito-Lay Inc. of Plano, Texas is recalling
some of it's Ruffles WOW Original Potato Chips because the bags actually
contain "cheddar and sour cream" variety.
The "cheddar and sour cream" variety contains dairy ingredients, FD&C
Yellow No. 5 Lake and FD&C Yellow No. 6 Lake which are not on the label
of the "original" variety. These ingredients may cause allergic
reactions to people who have a sensitivity to dairy or color additives.
The recalled chips were sold in 5 ounce bags in Alabama, Arkansas,
Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The
bags have "Pull Date Code OCT 26" and the plant code of 473306H on the
outside.
2,500 packages of the potato chips were distributed however Frito-Lay
estimated that only between 50 and 100 bags remained on market at time
of recall initiation.
