PROGRAM ASSISTANT
International democracy and governance assistance NGO seeks a qualified
and dedicated Program Assistant to work on its Africa and Near East
project team. Based primarily in Washington, the PA will assist in the
development and implementation of democracy support programs in West and Central Africa. Duties will include developing proposals and project budgets, drafting project reports, conducting research utilizing English and French resources, French/English translation and administrative tasks such as contracting consultants, monitoring finances, maintaining correspondence. Several years similar work experience is highly desired.
Skill requirements: B.A. Degree in international affairs, political
science or related discipline; fluency (spoken and written) in French;
excellent organizational, writing, research and communication skills;
attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines and to work
independently. Coursework in African studies or work/travel experience in Africa!
