Gambia-l:

Jammeh has turned out to be one of the most predictable figures in the Gambia. Nothing about his "hire-today, fire-tomorrow" policy has changed. His personnel policy appears to be modelled after the game of "musical chairs," drawing players from both the present and past orders.

The big question, however, is Jammeh's own exit. Whose foot-steps will he follow? (As falling monsters destroy everything in their path, we must ensure that we are either well protected or create a clear path for the Big Fall.)
Will Jammeh leave the helm as:
(a) Diouf, Kaunda
(b) Mandela, Nyerere, Senghor
(c) Houphouet-Boigny, Kenyatta
(d) Sankara
(e) Amin, Mobutu
(f) "Dr." Doe
(g) Afrifa, Akuffo, Acheampong, Tolbert
(h) Jawara
or (i) in his own style?

The more repressive the regime becomes, the less likely some choices appear. Our challenege is to make sure that The Gambia does not turn into Liberia, D.R. Congo, etc. after their tyrants tumbled.

Amadou Scattred Janneh

ps:
I believe the spy thing is an unfortunate distraction. Ironically, Mafy failed to do what his accusers have accomplished: shifting the focus from Jammeh. The overwhelming majority of Jammeh's critics have not made any attempts to disguise their identities, so why pay anyone to gather information that is readily available?
