My first attempt at putting together a slot1 unit is less than positive.
Parts: Abit Bh6, Celeron 300a, 128meg RAM, ATI video card, ATX case.
Scenario: I am doing the initial test, where I have the board with the
cpu, ram and video card in the case. the cpu fan is connected to the
board. The 'power switch' wire is connected. No other wires or
peripherals are connected. At power up, the case fan kicks in as
expected, but that's it. The cpu doesn't boot and the monitor is blank.
This is the test I have normally done on socket7 units before finishing
the assembly. Am I missing something?
