Hi, Sarah...
> I have a REALLY important question I need help with. I am getting a new computer with a CD-RW drive and I am wondering a few things:
Ask away.. i would say..
> 1)Can you record audio CDs on a CD-RW disc and will they play in any standard CD player?
>
Nope... the CD-RW disks use a othere kind of layer of reflection and will not play in a standard cd player.
> 2)Can you record audio CDs on a CD-R disc from a CD-RW drive and will they play in any standard CD player?
>
Yep.. that you can.. a CD-RW driver doesn't stand only for CD-RW so that you can only use CD-RW disc... You also can burn CD-R's in this
driver also.. but than you can only burn the cd 1 time.. a CD-RW you can use up to 1000x they say.
> 3)Can you download MP3's and burn them onto CDs with a CD-RW drive?
>
That you can do. there are many program's as shareware or freeware that can burn mp3 to audio format on a cd-r. But keep in mind that if
you have let's say 80 mp'3 you can put them all on 1 disk but you can't play them in a standaard cd player if you want that than you
can't get all 80 mp'3 on 1 disk than about 20 to 22 numbers on 1 disk, this because the cd-player uses a other format of audio reading
than mp3 format. 1 mp3 of 3 meg will be 30 or more mb's on a cd.
> 4)Can you backup data, like save files, onto CD-RW discs?
>
Yes you can.
