I had an older color Logitech Quick Cam attached to my IBM 760 laptop
through the parallel port. If functioned well but is now in
retirement. Using the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs applet I removed
the Quick Cam software. Then I installed my new Intel Video Pro Pack video
camera which has a USB interface. It also works great.
Now the problem. When I start any video software it tries to start the
Quick Cam, giving multiple error messages until it finally gives up(??) and
the program starts without video. I can then go into the application's
setup (I have several such as Net Meeting, Video Conference, etc.) and
change to my new Intel Video Cam and it will work until I re-start the
application.
I have tried deleting and re-installing the video software.
I have confirmed that the program files for the Quick Cam are gone.
I have found *many* references in my registry referring to the Quick Cam.
I have tried using RegClean and Easy Cleaner on the registry.
Still my software tried to start Quick Cam and had Quick Cam as an
installed video source. Can someone help me get rid of the Quick Cam?
TIA
