I talk with Dr. Dennis Moore of Wright State University. We are still
doing an analysis of the posts for the last four years relating to booze
and medication. ALL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IS BEING DELETED THROUGH A C++
PROGRAM. Dennis and his operation at Wright State is a Rehabilitation
Research and Training Center(RRTC). There are about 40 around the country.
Any way, Dennis related to me that at a meeting of RRTC directors, he
explained our ongoing research and mentioned that listservs such as this
one was a new frontier of research. I had been pushing Dennis to explore
this area for at least 3 years. Just like the current Mainstream vs. Sp.
ED. thread, there is more real information here than in most contrived
survey research. However, there are some drawbacks as for as topics, such
as the Civil Wah Thread which never seemed to end. I was one of the main
contributors to that one. But I, personally have learned much for everyone
of this list. I hope I haven't created a "monster" and we will be deluged
with requests. By the way, the archives for four years comprise 20,000
pages!
