I must share with all of you that the lovely and talented Trish, and the
lovely and talented Amber drove all the way across Alexandria to bring me
with a twelve pack of Dr. Pepper. Are they super friends or what?
And they hugged me too.
My Mom was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and is in a great deal of
pain. For the past couple of weeks, we've been up each night because of this
and it's really taking a physical and psychological toll on me. She is
scheduled for surgery Monday. I'm worried because she put off going to the
doctor for months (Christian Science) so this thing has had a chance to grow.
Now she is getting medical attention, but we're also talking about funeral
plans and stuff. She doesn't believe she will survive the surgery. I keep
thinking about how much she's sacrificed on my behalf, especially in the past
couple of years. I'm really in a weird place right now, thinking that my mom
might die. So...I needed the hugs -- Thanks Trisha and thanks Amber. And
thanks for the Dr. Pepper.
