The latest on both is that the brain tumor issue was unfounded and was based
on "red herring" research. The issue re: cell phones blowing up refueling
cars is simply urban myth and has no basis in fact. You would have to have
a capacitive discharge great enough to start oxidation of the petrol (tip o'
the hat to Deri) vapors. Frankly, gasoline does not oxidize as easily as
you might think.
