Hey, I'm an a-typical whine-y client! I went right out and spent actual
money on lacquer and fixative, and - three days into the experiment - the
petroleum jelly is doing better than either of them. And by the way, I have
completely converted to electric illumination (one of my whine-y children
said "Dad, a candle will start a fire."), and all my pumpkins from now on
will have a nightlight on an extension cord. Among other things, the
brighter light permits more freedom on carving - you can leave some membrane
in place and the light will shine through it.
Sign me, Robert Chesebrough, the promoter of vaseline, really believed in
the stuff - he swallowed 3 tablespoons every night. Should we do that after
Garrison Keillor, or before?
