I have a celeron running at 850 on a Abit BH6 MB, fsb 100, pci 33. The HD
is a WD 20G, ata66, 7200. The MB has integrated UDMA 33 controller. In
SisSoft Sandra, the drive rates at about 7000. This same drive in an i810
based system rates at nearly 17000 with integrated ata 66.
I thought I would speed it up in the BH6 system by adding the Promise Ultra
ata 66 card. However, with this card it only runs at around 7200 - hardly
any difference. The card is set up correctly(boots to UDMA 4, and reports
ata66 in Device Mgr.) with drivers as per manual. I also flashed it to the
latest bios (2.0). Any help appreciated for this big disappointment. I
expected it to do a little better than this.
