Dear Jeffrey
It is just a week that I Upgrade my system from P2 to Duron 700,It is Great
but...........
in fact AMD CPU have nice Power and speed but maybe you have some trouble
with some of your software or even some hardware trouble..if you are patient
enough to solve them,it is good idea to jump to amd! and get a fast system
with a less money!
All that Jun said is completely right, except that last one :-)
but I hope you haven't any trouble
I don't recommend KT7 and any Slot A M.B as Gareth Cranny said,
if you still think about AMD it is better to select Socket A Cpu(Duron and
Athlon T-Bird) Slot A have some trouble around 1 GHZ because nearly all of the
M.B
Chipset for Slot A is KX133 and it have this problem
But if it is light Duty and also you think about trouble Free system,my
suggestion is a Celeron(667 or...733 766)also it isn't enough efficient
both of the cpu will work under WIN2000 well with enough RAM(128 or more)
BTW Asus A7V and Abit KA7 is good Board,and Ignore Giga 7IXE4 7ZM 7ZX
