David Ray recently wrote in with this question: "Can anyone tell me what I
need to do to get an older Shuttle HOT-569 mobo to accept PC-100 RAM?
Currently, I have 3 sticks of 32 meg each of PC-66 in
there. I have a stick of 64 meg PC-100 that I would like to put in there.
But, every time it boots, it gets a different memory size reading and then
usually locks up immediately after post."
David, I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but I don't think the HOT-569 will
accept PC-100 RAM. I tried it every which-way last year with my HOT-569 (an
otherwise outstanding MOBO) but it simply would not accept anything but
PC-66 RAM. In my case, however, the computer didn't lock up; it simply would
not recognize the PC-100 sticks.
