There is a layer called ASPI which stands for" Advanced SCSI programers
interface". This layer allows even IDE , ATAPI, and SCSI drives to
communicate with each other.Unfortunately the ASPI layer that comes with
windows is known to be unstable.Adaptect who has the copyrights to ASPI
unfortunatly only releases thier good ASPI to full retail versions of there
software or if you have purchased one of thier cards. There is a utility on
thier site to check your ASPI layer and if not i recomend using thier ASPI.
It seems to me to be the best on the market.

Hope I have helped!
Robert W. Smith
