Hi,

Looking for some advice. Have a system that has been working quite well and
then over the past two days it started to grind down (slow down) such that
the mouse provides jerky movement and it takes "time" for applications to
launch. Re-imaged the system with the template I had for it and still the
same result. Re-imaging also formats the drive.

The virus software is current to the latest .dat file from Mcafee and there
have been no modifications.

I ran the resource meter and the CPU usage peaks frequently. Also checked
the heat of the processor and it was hovering at about 31 degrees Celsius
(about 80 Ferenheit). I cleaned the power supply and cpu fan's thinking
maybe there was a dust build-up, but no change and not that much dust.

The hard drives are also error free. Here's the system config, if it may
help you provide some feedback:

[-] PII 233MHz, 96MB RAM
[-] 4GB Primary Drive. 6 GB Secondary Drive.
[-] Creative 36X CD-ROM and HP 7200i CD-Writer
[-] Windows 98 2nd Ed. IE 5.
[-] ATi All-in-Wonder Pro 98 16MB Video / TV Tuner
Any ideas?

Guido Piraino
