I am currently using that exact same software (Wingate 3.0.5 and Zonealarm
2.0.26) and have not had one single problem with the set up. The only
thing you must do to make it work is to allow "server" permissions to
Wingate in the Zonealarm control panel. The make sure you reboot after
changing permissions.
You will find this combination highly reliable and fairly secure. I used
to use Conseal PC Firewall, and although it was probably a bit more secure,
I got tired of playing the firewall "rules" game. For a home machine, the
above combination is probably much more than you need.
