I have had Celiac Disease  with every symptom possible since the age of 3;
described by Doctors as a "Classic Case". For many years, I had been a
patient of Dr. Z. Myron Falchuk at Deaconess Hospital.(now a part of Beth
Israel Hospital)

My latest experience (in the 90's) was with Dr. Ciaran Kelly at Beth
Israel Deaconess Hospital. He had the most current knowledge of celiac
research and celiac technological progress(knowing which laboratories to
use). His connections to other well known gastroenterologists in the
field (most of whom were at the 9th Annual Symposium of International
Gastroenterologists at Baltimore) and his ability to work with specialists
other than gastroenterologists, when necessary, saved my life.

I would strongly urge any adult in the Boston area, who is having celiac
symptoms of any kind to use Dr. Kelly to rule out or confirm either a
diagnosis of or to handle complications from celiac disease. I would
include in this group, particularly, so called "banana babies" who may
have been told that they were "cured" . They are now in their 40's and
50's and need to find out the "truth" ASAP.
