According to an old time audio technician I know, you can bake a tape
at 200 degrees for maybe 15 minutes. this may reform the tape's lubricant
for a few plays.
Be carefull to see that the cassette shell doesn't soften, if this happens it's
done for.
I havn't tried it but trust the tech who told me
