Hello listers,
I've been asked by a colleague at America Online to post information about a
10-12 week payed internship opportunity for a student with a disability that
is now available at AOL at their headquarters in Dulles, VA. The job
description is pasted below. They are looking for someone at the college or
grad school level.

Timing is tight. They would like to start talking with potential candidates

Ideally the applicant should live in the Washington D.C. area or be able to

Job Description:
ACCESSIBILTY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Job Resonsibilities:
Review and document AOL Products and services for accessibility features.
Work with crosscompany product teams to create schedule and track status of
accessibility features.
Review and edit consumer documentation that educates members on how to
optimize their AOL experience for different disabilities: hard of hearing
and deaf as well as visual, mobility, and cognitive impairments.
Work with content programming teams to help strategize disability content on
AOL.
Pull together required research on the disability community to help AOL
marketing teams successfully target the disability marketplace.

Skills Required: Screen reader literate. Computer and Internet literate.
Experience using a broad base of assistive technologies. Project management
skills.
Self-starter; takes self-initiative

Skills Desired: Consumer writing/editing.

Experience working in the corporate environment on technical accessibility
issues.
Experience using TTY machines.

This is a great opportunity to experience a direct impact of your
contribution to help America Online improve the accessibility features of
its products and services.
