I too am required to carry a beeper for tech support on apps I've written
in sap r3, and the way they've handled it for me and another blind
programmer working here is to have the people call another voice mail
account, leave a message, then upon hang-up, the audix system will call
the beeper for them.  This way, I only give out the voice mail number, and
when the beeper goes off, I dial-in to the audix mail box, and retrieve
the messages.  I had asked about simply calling the beeper company, and
having them give me the number shown on the beeper, but they claimed that
wasn't an option, and suggested the current setup.
