Peter,
Internet Explorer does not have a setting which can be changed, MS Word
does. It all depends on the application.
What you are describing is not a "universal" windows setting. It is
something that is unique to each individual program. So you would have to
go into the TOOLS/OPTIONS/CONFIGURATION/SETTINGS/whatever for each program
to make changes.
