A more effective means of replacing a MOBO without a reinstall is
to edit the registry. If you go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE you'll see a key
called ENUM. Delete this key in safe mode then restart. All the hardware
will then be detected and drivers installed. The only time this hasn't
worked fro me was when I attempted to install WIN98SE on an old computer.
This was because WIN98SE didn't have drivers for the much older chipset.
