Haruna,
The Gambia always have intellectuals with titles, but we usually
don't give them the opportunity to apply their intellect to our benefit.
We mostly,as far as I know, resort to minimising their intellect by
either negating it or not valuing it,which usually results to them
shying away. I think we should all ask ourselves why these
Gambian intellects are so prosperous out side The Gambia
regarding their contributions.
Thanks

G-L,
It is amazing to notice that The Gambia has some
intellectuals
carrying with them some titles ranging from doctorate
degrees to
professorship. But what comes to my mind is what are the
contributions
of these intellectuals towards the politico-socio-economic
development
of the country and it's citizery during the past thirty
years?
To what extent would this conference have an impact to the
ordinary
Gambian living in the rural areas like Demba Kunda or
Basse?
I bring these questions to the forum not because I like to
challenge
the intellectuals but to satisfy my curiosity.
