>how do you get a word count on a document in MS WORD?

In word 97
On Tools menu select Word Count

Up pops a dialog box. If you read line by line it will say

Pages 2
Words 34
Characters (no spaces) 187

Also, there's a checkbox at the end of the dialog box that you check to
include endnotes and footnotes in the count.

Another way is
On file menu
select properties
choose statistics tab

I'd be interested to hear if there's a glitch reading this with a screen
reader.
