Pemmican doesn't taste very good at first.  Most everyone who tries it,
including me, doesn't think much of it at first.  But it doesn't take long
at all to develop a taste for it.

I would recommend against using any spices at all in your first few batches
of pemmican, except -maybe- some berries.  You'll find the longer you're on
a decent diet that your taste buds taste things they could never taste
before anyway.
