Regarding Mark's post about Delta Airlines: I've been flying
American a fair amount lately and find that the flights outbound
from Dallas/Fort Worth have great gluten-free meals. Usually a
poached chicken breast, salad w/ gf dressing, fruit and a rice
cake. However, in the other cities when I'm returning to Dallas,
it's another story. Coming from San Jose last week, I got some
kind of chicken in a sauce (thickened w/ flour??) and a salad w/
questionable low-fat dressing, rice and a roll w/ margarine! I
ate the rice w/o incident but I was concerned! I spoke to the
flight attendant who, like Mark's on Delta, said she would "write
it up." The man across the aisle had a low-fat meal -- the only
difference between our meals was that he didn't get a roll! It
does seem like they don't know what they're doing, doesn't it.
I've written to American and will see what they say.
