Thanks to everyone who responded about places to eat in Daytona Beach and
Disney World. I feel much better about this trip now! Disney World sounds
very accommodating. There is a special requests reservationist there named
Linda, phone # 407-939-7807, who can set up refrigerators and brand new
toasters in the rooms, help contact chefs to arrange for meals (any
restaurant in Disney can prepare gluten free meals with 24 hours notice),
and contacts conceirges at the resorts to have gf snacks available at the
hotel.
Some places in Disney to get gf snacks include Casey's at the end of Main
St, for french fries, Magic Kingdom popcorn, and ice cream at the Cone shop
on Main St.
For Daytona:
One celiac who lives there responded with a list of restaurants.
Chart House-very
high priced
Sweetwater's - welcome familes
The Cellar- The chef offers chicken salad and a couple of items made with
Hellman's mayonnaise
Sapporo's Japanese Steak House- Chef prepares meal at the table, can
specify how your food is prepared
Red Lobster-(?) had postive experiences there
Angell & Phelps Cafe- next door to a chocolate factory, where they conduct
tours. Has a great chef named Tom Papa who can fix excellent gf meals, but
call first
Aunt Catfish- chef is good to accommodate special requests
I contacted 2 restaurants by e-mail, one, the Inlet Harbor Marina,
responded with a very nice note that they would do everything they could to
accommodate us, they were sure they could fix some things. The other, the
Yacht Harbor, replied they were not food specialists, they couldn't help me
determine if they could fix anything or not, I'd have to decide myself!
Guess where I'll eat!
Thanks again to everyone who responded!
