FYI, sometimes the "feeling "of acid indigestion is actually a sign of not
enough acid in the stomach or not enough digestive enzymes, which is also
very possible with celiac disease. In these instances, it would be better
to try a digestive enzyme supplement or possibly betaine hydrochoride to
help break down food for easier assimilation. Most "mainstream" doctors
will probably not know much about this (same as most won't recognize celiac
disease if it's not 'classic') but more alternative type doctors, for
instance Dr. Julian Whitaker or chiropractors or NDs, feel the need for HCL
or enzymes is actually quite common in general but especially if the small
intestine is damaged.
