In response to the question about Lactaid, the 1995 edition of the
Compendium of Pharmaceuticals lists the nonmedical ingredients as:
cellulose, dextrose, dicalcium phosphate, hydrogenated vegetable oil
and modified cornstarch. The manufacturer is McNeil Consumer
Products and the Compendium lists them as one of the companies that
claims NOT to use gluten in their pharmaceuticals. This information
is supplied to the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association by the
manufacturer.
