JAWS FOR WINDOWS 3.5 SCRIPTS FOR PMMAIL 2000
By Jamal Mazrui ([log in to unmask])
March 14, 2000

This archive is available on the web at
http://www.empowermentzone.com/pm2k_jfw.zip

If you don't have PMMail 2000, a trial version is at
ftp://ftp.blueprintsoftwareworks.com/pub/PMMail2kStd.exe

Install these scripts by copying all files into your active
scripts directory, usually c:\jfw35\settings\enu. You can
confirm they are installed by pressing the Insert+Q key when
PMMail is loaded. You can get a list of hot keys added with the
Insert+H key.

To explain the scripts, let me first define the terms list mode
and read mode. By list mode, I mean where multiple message
headers are summarized on separate lines. Read mode is where the
body of a single message occupies most of a window.

The following scripted keys have the same result whether you are
in list mode or read mode when you press them:

Delete = delete message and go to next in list mode
Control+Delete = delete message and go to next in read mode
Backspace = delete message and go to prior in list mode
Control+Backspace = delete message and go to prior in read mode
Control+NumPadPlus = go to next message in list mode
Control+NumPadMinus = go to previous message in list mode
Control+PageDown = go to next message in read mode
Control+PageUp = go to previous message in read mode
Alt+H = say header of message

In list mode, the Control+F key is enhanced with a script that
takes you to the editbox for entering the string of text to find.
Pressing Enter when on this field will take you to the first
message in the list of messages found by the search. Note that
PMMail requires you to press Alt+F4 to close the search list.

Pressing Enter on a message in list mode will open the message in
read mode and start reading it automatically with the JFW SayALL
command, similar to the way that JFW automatically starts reading
a web page when it is opened in Internet Explorer. Press the
Control key to stop the continuous reading. The other keys that
result in read mode -- Control+Delete, Control+Backspace,
Control+PageDown, and Control+PageUp -- also initiate a
continuous read, and in their cases the sender of the message is
spoken first (when Enter is pressed to open a message, the sender
is presumed to have been identified already in the summary line).

In read mode, pressing Enter on an Internet URL will launch it.
If it is a web page, your default web browser will take you
there. If it is an email address, a new message window will be
opened for sending a message to that person.

Also in read mode, pressing the Insert+A key when the cursor is
at the beginning of an email address will take you to the dialog
that lets you add that person to your default addressbook.

Whether you are reading or editing a message, tabbing among
fields in its header will speak the appropriate field name and
data. When on the CC field, pressing the Alt+B key will toggle
it to the BCC field. Pressing the Alt+C key when on the BCC
field will toggle it to the CC field.

Below is a complete list of keyboard shortcuts in PMMail 2000,
Included in this archive is a plain text version of the Windows
