Are you sure about that? Wouldn't the protein first have to be converted
to glucose, and then stored as fat? That would seem extremely unlikely
on a "rabbit starvation" diet of very low fat, and presumably fairly low
calories. Under the conditions described, it would seem that the only
reasonable source of ketones would be from the breakdown of body fat.
