Alhamdulillah and here is an anouncement about eid from Shiack al-Munajjid.
I have also been informed by e-mail that Shaickh Muqbil in Yemen also issued
a similar fatwa. Eid Mubarak to all of you. Tqabaallahu minna wa minkum. May
Allah accept from us and all of you.

The Shaickh wrote:

It was announced tonight in Mekkah Mukarramah that
the crescent moon of the month of Shawaal was
officialy sighted. Based on this, tomorrow, Friday
January 7, 2000 is Ead UlFitr. We ask Allaah
almighty to accept from all Muslims their Fasting
and Qiyaam prayers.

Allahumma salli wasallim ala Nabiyyina Muhammad. Wasalaam.
