I've found some recent posts provocative.
I am a member of another list that specializes in one subject. The list host controls conversation and does not allow discussion that is off topic. I am sure she has many reasons, not the least of which being the "testimony" we provide to newcomers. I applaud her narrowness and have many times been thankful for the fact that when I read that list's posts they will not contain rhetoric and theory that detracts from my purpose for reading them.
Recently the paleolist has entertained a thread about the morality of eating meat. Frankly, I am shocked to see this thread go so far. The host of this list created it (presumably) to promote a style of eating commensurate with Neanderthin. As the basic premise of Neanderthin is the necessity of eating meat, defending the consumption of meat on this list is ridiculous.
I recently sent an old client to this list for more info about the daily workings of the paleo diet. I hope she wasn't confused by the recent philosophical discussions about eating meat.
I feel fortunate to have finally found people who are as genuinely radical as myself. But, radicalism and rudeness are not synonymous. Just as I would never criticize a hostess's meal at her dinner table, I wouldn't dream of challenging an author's theories on his own list.........call me an old-fashioned Southern lady...............
