Just an update on the dental pumice situation. I checked with the
manufacturer of the dental pumice used by my dentist (soltan-topex
prophylactic paste 1-800-238-6739. They confirmed that the pina colada
flavor is gf. They indicated to me that the mint and cherry flavors
contained a grain-derived alcohol base for the flavoring. I asked them
about this alcohol and whether it is distilled. They called back to
confirm that it is distilled, GMO-free, food grade (ethyl) alcohol.
(Accodring to Vance all ethyl alcohol is distilled.) As per the CDF
webpage and several messages from fellow list mates I interpreted that
as GF. I had my teeth cleaned today and so far no reaction. Hope the
info. helps. joan Ardmore, PA
