>It seems you are one of those people who rejects the tenets of >empiricism
>and denies the existence of objective reality.

I don't deny the existence of objective reality but i question the
possibility to aprehend it by perception only .
The reality of a tree for an ant is drastically different than the reality
of the same tree for a human being . On top of that a scientist will
apprehend the tree in a certain manner ( analysing its part ) , a logger
will see in the tree X number of dollar., i will see the same tree as
supporting the life of number of other species., a carpenter wil see the
house that he could build with its wood etc...
Who knows what do my eyes see when i say red ? how do i know how red is
seen by you . It is all about convention between pairs of eyes.
every perception is subjective and that is the myth of science to pretend to
objectivity.
The fact that scientific perceptions became shared by many doesn't make it
more real.
why do you think this kind of perception have to be inforced by many years
of studies in school if it is so objective . Everybody should allready see
that reality.

>Getting back to science, it is only because of science that the modern
>interest and knowledge of paleodiet even exists.

It is not true for every body. What started Guy claude Burger in the quest
for human original diet is an experience with a cabbage ( where the taste
of the cabbage , its" reality " change from one day to an other ) that lead
him to a quest to an understanding of our original diet.
And yes as a trained scientist he used scientific findings to confirm his
theories deducted from his totally subjective experience but it didn't
dismissed his experience because it was not reproductible ( his perception
of the reality of the cabbage was changing from one day to another). he
integrated both approach in one understanding.
The fact that he was at the same time a scientist ( physicist ) and a
professional musician allow him certainly to integrate together the
intuitive and objective perception of the world.
i started a paleodiet instinctively regulated , just because it made sens to
me for whatever reason ,i didn't need any scientific confirmation of it .
My interest in the scientific aproach came after many years of
experimenting with the idea in a very unorthodox manner.
there is many means to knowledge!
