Wrong book; wrong diet.  You are thinking of _The Carbohydrate
Addict's Diet_ by the Hellers.  That's the one that has the
"reward meal" concept that you describe above.

_Protein Power_ does not have such a thing, and in fact the Eades
have criticized the Hellers for it.

Again, wrong authors.  The Hellers have indeed put out a number
of books in a relatively short time.  But _Protein Power_ came
out in 1994, I believe.  You may criticize the commercialism of
the Protein Power infomercial product, with videos, etc.  For
some people, these extra appurtenances are helpful, I suppose.

The Eades (not the Hellers) made some mention of paleo ideas in
the original PP book, and in fact mentioned Neanderthin
favorably.  In the new book, the paleo idea is central and
reflects a clear progression of their thinking in this direction.
