I'm trying to install SCO Xenix 5, from 5.25" floppies and
according to the instructions I should boot from the floppy,
press Enter at the boot prompt, and a command line which
includes fd(4) xenix root-fd(4) swap...(etc, instruction doesn't give
rest of line) should appear. However, what really appears (on
various machines) is:
fd(52) xenix root=fd(52) swap=ram (0) pipe=ram(1) swplo=0
nswap=1000 ronly
after that line appears, the computer reboots, and the same
process repeats.
What are the hardware requirements for this OS?
I was using it on plenty of 286's with 2 meg ram and 20 meg HD,
way back when, but I can't remember if they had any special
boards, as well.
Ideas?
Many TIA,
Michael Beechey
