Would "second year" marigolds be edible?? I planted some I got from
Stuff-mart. Toward the end of the summer, I let them self seed for next
season. The plants received no chemical treatments after initial planting.
Thanks!

Marigolds are tasty, and pretty in tossed salads (remove the bitter stamen).
But you should never eat ornamental (non-organic) flowers; too many nasty
chemicals used for their growing. So don't go getting a flat of marigolds
from Stuff-Mart thinking that you've just bought a nice garnish for your
salad.
Marigolds (and other yellow flowers) attract beneficial insects to your
garden, which eat pesky insects.
