Heavy bleeding and clotting can also be symptoms of
uterine fibroid cysts.  They are quite common for
women in the their 30's and 40's. I was diagnosed with
them a couple of years ago (I am 41 now) and I was
told that unless the bleeding and cramping was severe,
surgery wasn't necessary: they usually go away by
themselves after menopause anyway.
