TRAINING OPPORTUNITY Scaffolding for Historic Preservation Projects
Association for Preservation Technology (APT) Conference & Workshops 2001
Asilomar-Monterey Peninsula-California
October 8-9, 2001
This two-day workshop will address issues relating to the scaffolding used on
historic building projects. Participants in the workshop will have an
opportunity through case study lectures, demonstrations, and a lecture on
personal fall arrest systems to gain knowledge and safety instruction
concerning access for inspection, design, construction, and conservation of
historic buildings and monuments. The course will examine scaffolding systems
and their regulations, standards, and safety. Information concerning man
lifts, swing stages, temporary and construction scaffolds will also be
conducted. Completion of the second day of training will result in a
certificate of completion for fall protection training. The workshop is being
offered as a post conference technical workshop of the Association for
Preservation Technology International Conference, October 3-7, 2001. The
conference and workshop is being co-sponsored by the National Park Service,
California Department of Parks and Recreation, California Preservation
Foundation, and US/ICOMOS.

Lodging is available for participants at the Asilomar Center. Lodging costs
for participants for this course are not included in the registration fee.
